"The land was fragmented, the people separated, the old ways blowing away in the wind; even the plants and animals began to turn their faces away from us. The time was foretold when the children would turn away from the elders; people would lose their way and their purpose in life."
- Robin Wall Kimmerer

Land Acknowledgement

The team at WOW recognizes the importance of the land we live, play, and work on, including its history and connection to people. We acknowledge the care and stewardship of the Abenaki people past, present, and future. We recognize a history of colonialism and genocide along with a responsibility to learn, grow, and heal. We open our hearts and programs to this process of being in right relationship, learning, receiving feedback, and taking action.
